On Teacher's Day, Hrithik Roshan unveiled the first posters of his upcoming film, Vikas Bahl's Super 30. The film, which marks Hrithik's entry into the biopic genre, is based on the life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar.
Rumours were doing the rounds that the makers decided to distance themselves from Anand, after allegations of deceit were levelled against him. It was being said that Super 30 would no longer be treated as a biopic, but a common man's meteoric rise against all odds instead.
However, the posters of Super 30 have effectively put to rest all such speculation. "Inspired by the life of Anand Kumar and his students," is prominently mentioned on them.
For the uninitiated, Anand Kumar is the founder of Super 30
, an educational programme where 30 meritorious students from low-income backgrounds are chosen and trained to get into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
The programme is famed for its success rate. Last year, all 30 students cracked the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). This year, the mathematician claimed that 26 out of his 30 students cleared the exam
